Which restoration companies in Nevada can we vouch for on evidence?

No ranking in Nevada yet. 12 Nevada companies met our listing bar and none reached 70% coverage. 8 of them are in Las Vegas and have their own page. This page lists the 4 elsewhere in the state. A website alone tops out at 69%, and we have no open-data registry or license file wired for Nevada, so no company can be ranked on evidence we can check.

69 companies reviewed in Nevada, 12 met the listing bar (4 of them outside the city pages), 0 of those scored here (evidence coverage of 70% or more).

How we check companies in Nevada

Four companies beyond Las Vegas

With 4 companies, the percentages swing on a single site, so read them as counts. Every one documents water damage and mold. 3 of 4 add fire and smoke work, and 2 of 4 list storm damage. Sewage and biohazard cleanup is rare: 1 of 4 mentions it, so a sewer backup may send you to the Las Vegas page or further.

3 of 4 say they answer around the clock. Insurance claim help and free estimates are each stated by 1 of 4, which is low next to most states we cover. Ask about both on the phone. None of the four is a franchise location.

Missing details

1 of 4 gives a response time and 1 of 4 describes a warranty. 2 of 4 name an industry standard, usually IICRC S500 or S520, and we score that as the company's own claim. None shows a third-party credential we could confirm ourselves.

Why there's no Nevada ranking

Two things stand in the way. A ranked page needs at least 8 companies at 70% coverage, and a website can't carry a company past 69% by itself. The rest of the score comes from outside records such as a state business registry, and Nevada's isn't open data we can query. We have no Nevada license file wired in either. So no Nevada company, in Las Vegas or here, is ranked yet, and we won't lower the bar to change that.

How to check a restoration company in Nevada

Nevada licenses contractors through the State Contractors Board under NRS 624. When we checked in September 2026, the Board said every contractor must be licensed before bidding, offering to take on work or negotiating a price, and that it sets a bond amount for each license. Its License Search takes a license number, a company name or the name of a principal or qualified individual.

Small repairs have an exemption, with limits. Repair or maintenance work worth less than $1,000, labor and materials included, doesn't need a license, unless a building permit is required, the work is plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, heating or air conditioning, or it's part of a larger project worth $500 or more. Ask for the license number anyway.

Hiring a licensed residential contractor also protects you later. The Residential Recovery Fund can pay owners who live in their single-family home and lose money on a licensed contractor's job. It isn't open to anyone who hired an unlicensed contractor, and it doesn't promise to cover the whole loss.

If someone sold you the job at your door, Nevada law lets you cancel a door-to-door sale of $25 or more by written notice before midnight of the third business day after signing. An emergency you asked for yourself can be an exception, but only if you sign a handwritten statement waiving that right. For a home built before 1978, the EPA runs lead renovation certification in Nevada. We haven't logged state license, IICRC Certified Firm or EPA Lead-Safe checks for any Nevada company, so profiles show them as Not verified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do restoration companies need a Nevada contractor license?

The Nevada State Contractors Board says all contractors must be licensed before contracting, which it defines as bidding, offering to engage or negotiating a price. It sets a bond amount for each license when it's approved. There's a narrow exemption for repair or maintenance under $1,000, but it doesn't apply if a permit is needed or the job is part of a larger project.

Is there a Nevada license for mold remediation?

We found no official page describing one. What the law does say is narrower: Nevada's licensing law for environmental health specialists, NRS 625A, doesn't apply to people working in mold assessment or mold remediation.

What happens if a licensed Nevada contractor leaves me out of pocket?

You may be able to claim from the Residential Recovery Fund, run by the State Contractors Board. It can pay owners who live in their single-family home and lose money on a job by a licensed residential contractor. The Board says it doesn't cover people who hired unlicensed contractors, and it doesn't guarantee the whole loss back.
