Yes. 26 Oregon companies met our listing bar. Portland has its own ranked page, and all 17 companies elsewhere in the state are ranked below. Two outside records carried them over the 70% coverage bar: the Secretary of State's business data, where most were matched to a registered entity, and the Construction Contractors Board's active license data. Scores stay modest because few sites say how fast they respond or what they guarantee. Oregon requires a CCB license, so look that up before you hire.
87 companies reviewed in Oregon, 26 met the listing bar (17 of them outside the city pages), 17 of those scored here (evidence coverage of 70% or more). Ranked by Evidence Score.

Portland's companies are on the Portland page. Outside it, 16 of 17 listed companies document water damage and 14 of 17 document mold remediation. Beyond those two, the offer narrows. Sewage cleanup, fire and smoke work and storm damage each appear on 10 of 17 sites. So check the service list before calling about a fire. One listing is a franchise location.
The weak spot is what a customer learns before the crew shows up. 6 of 17 sites give a response time, and only 2 of 17 describe a warranty. 8 of 17 name an industry standard such as IICRC S500, and even that is the company's own claim. Around-the-clock service is more common, stated on 14 of 17 sites, while insurance claim help appears on 11 of 17.
That pattern explains why Oregon scores sit well below their coverage: a median score of 47 against a median coverage of 84%. Coverage measures how much we could check, found or confirmed absent. The score measures what was actually there. A company can be almost fully checked and still score modestly because its site never says how fast it arrives or what it will stand behind. Adding those details to a website is the quickest way for an Oregon company to move up.
Outside the Portland page, every listed Oregon company clears 70%. A website can't get there by itself, and Oregon supplies two outside records to close the gap. The Secretary of State publishes its active business records as open data, and most companies here were matched to a registered entity. We also search the CCB's active license data. Only 4 of 17 matched a license under their own name, but a clear miss counts as checked too.
Oregon runs contractor licensing through the Construction Contractors Board (CCB). When we checked in September 2026, the CCB's search page said contractors must put their license number on their advertising, including websites, and that searching by that number is the most accurate lookup. Its Consumer Tools page lists what the result shows: an active license and surety bond, proof of liability insurance, workers' compensation coverage, any complaints or discipline from the past 10 years, and whether the contractor is licensed to work on pre-1978 homes that could contain lead-based paint.
That lead item matters after water or fire damage in an older house, because tearing out wet drywall and trim disturbs painted surfaces, the work the EPA's lead rules cover. Oregon is one of the states the EPA has authorized to run its own lead renovation program, and the CCB's search includes a separate Lead Safe Contractors lookup.
The Secretary of State's Find a Business search confirms that the company is registered. The lead-safe and IICRC checks aren't logged yet, so profiles show those as Not verified.
Yes. When we checked in September 2026, the Construction Contractors Board's search page said contractors must put their CCB license number on their advertising, including websites. If you can't find it, ask for it and search it on the CCB site.
According to the CCB, whether the contractor is actively licensed and bonded, whether it gave proof of liability insurance, whether it carries workers' compensation, whether it's licensed to work on pre-1978 homes that could contain lead-based paint, and any complaints or discipline from the past 10 years.
We log a match only when one active license carries the company's own business name in the same city. A license held under a different legal name comes back as no matching active record. That still counts as checked, and it isn't a finding that the company is unlicensed, so search the number on its website yourself.
