Restoration companies in Louisiana

Which restoration companies in Louisiana can we vouch for on evidence?

Not yet. We list 15 Louisiana restoration companies, and none is ranked. A company's own website can supply at most 69% of our coverage, one point short of the 70% bar, and we don't have a Louisiana business registry or license file wired into our checks yet. One company cleared the bar after we confirmed its LSLBC license by hand, but a ranking needs 8. Until then, the table compares the 15 on what they document, and we won't lower the bar to force a ranking.

92 companies reviewed in Louisiana, 15 met the listing bar, 1 of those scored here (evidence coverage of 70% or more).

This Louisiana table isn't a ranking. It lines up each listed company's own evidence: the damage it handles, whether it answers at night, and what it says about estimates, standards and insurance. Every company carries an Evidence Score with coverage beside it. Coverage is the share of our scale we could check. Here it tops out for everyone at the same place, so the scores compare what each site actually says.

What the evidence shows

Water and mold, then a drop-off

Water damage shows up on 14 of 15 Louisiana listings, and the one exception does mold work only. Mold is close behind at 13 of 15. Fire and smoke work appears on 9 of 15 sites. Storm damage is listed by just under half, 7 of 15, so if wind or roof damage is your problem, check that column before you call. Sewage and biohazard cleanup is the thinnest line at 4 of 15.

Night cover is common. 11 of 15 say they respond around the clock, and 10 of 15 say they work with insurance claims. 7 of 15 state free estimates. No Louisiana listing is a franchise location.

Few details past the phone number

Louisiana sites are short on the specifics that help you compare. Only 1 of 15 says how quickly a crew arrives, and 1 of 15 describes a warranty on its work. 5 of 15 name an industry standard such as IICRC S500 for water or S520 for mold, which we record as a self-reported claim.

With mold as common as it is on this list, the state license is the better question to ask. Louisiana requires one for larger mold jobs, and it's a record you can look up yourself (see below).

Why Louisiana companies stop at 69%

The median coverage here is 69%, and that isn't a coincidence. It's the most a website can supply on our scale. The rest comes from records held by someone other than the company, like a business registry entry or a state license. Louisiana has both, but neither is wired into our automated checks yet. The one company above the line got there because we confirmed its LSLBC mold remediation license by hand. When a Louisiana source is added, companies that match it can cross the line too, and the table stays unranked until 8 do.

How to check a restoration company in Louisiana

The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors covers most of what a restoration job touches. Mold is licensed directly: LSLBC requires a Mold Remediation license for remediation projects worth $7,500 or more, and the qualifying party must complete 24 hours of training in mold remediation and basic mold assessment.

Rebuilding work falls under two other types. Home Improvement covers repair, renovation and alteration of an existing home when the project is worth $7,500 or more. A Residential license is required for residential construction over $50,000 including labor and materials, and for home improvement projects on existing homes above that figure.

You can confirm any of these in LSLBC's Contractor Search or its La. Contractor app, by company name, license number, type or location. The Secretary of State's business filings search finds the company's legal entity by name, charter number, or officer or agent name.

Insurance is off limits. Louisiana's contractor licensing law (R.S. 37:2159.1) bars anyone performing contracting services from adjusting a property insurance claim for you as a public adjuster, or from advertising that they will.

For homes built before 1978, the EPA runs lead Renovation, Repair and Painting certification in Louisiana, and it says anyone paid to disturb paint in older housing generally must be certified in lead-safe work practices. So far we've logged an LSLBC license for one Louisiana company and no IICRC Certified Firm or lead certification checks, so the other profiles show them as Not verified.
