Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026.

Restoration Index (“we,” “us,” “our”) is an editorial publication operated by Pleiades Consultancy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit restorationindex.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Restoration Index is published by Pleiades Consultancy. If you have a privacy question, want to exercise a privacy right described below, or want to report a concern, email [email protected]. We respond to verifiable requests within 30 days.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

If you email our editorial team (corrections@, listings@, press@, hello@, or privacy@ at restorationindex.com), we receive the email address you sent from and anything you choose to include in the message. We retain this correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the site we automatically receive standard server logs from our hosting and CDN providers, including your IP address, user agent, referring URL, and the pages you request. We use these logs to operate the site, troubleshoot errors, and identify abuse. Logs are retained for 30 days unless we have a specific reason to keep an entry longer (e.g. abuse investigation).

2.3 Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages perform well and which need work. Analytics readings are at the page level. We do not run third-party advertising pixels and we do not sell, rent, or trade visitor data.

2.4 Cookies and similar technologies

We use a single first-party preference cookie to remember small UI choices (such as the active “Browse” tab on the homepage). We do not set cross-site tracking cookies, advertising identifiers, or fingerprinting scripts. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time without losing access to any content.

3. How we use the information

We do not use visitor information to build advertising profiles, to score individuals, or to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. How we share information

We share information only in these limited cases:

We do not sell or share personal information for advertising or for any other commercial purpose.

5. Information about ranked firms

Every fact about a ranked firm in our index comes from a publicly available third-party source (Better Business Bureau, Google Business Profile, IICRC member directory, EPA Lead-Safe registry, Yelp, Angi, HomeAdvisor, or regional award publications). We do not collect personal information about firm owners or employees beyond what those public sources publish about the business.

Firms can request a correction or removal of public-record data we have indexed by emailing [email protected] with the specific factual change and a public source we can verify.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or limit certain uses. To exercise these rights, email us at [email protected] with your request. We may ask you for additional information to verify your identity before acting on the request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.

California residents: You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: Our lawful basis for processing standard server logs and analytics is our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe we have not handled your information properly.

7. Children

Restoration Index is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

8. Security

We protect the limited information we hold using reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

Our hosting and CDN providers operate globally. If you access the site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. By using the site you consent to that transfer.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the homepage for a reasonable period. Continued use of the site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
