28 companies reviewed, 9 met the listing bar, 5 scored (evidence coverage of 70% or more). Fewer than 8 companies reached the scoring bar, so this is an unranked comparison. The bar is not lowered to make a ranking.

Places covered: companies with an office in Denver. A company elsewhere in Colorado appears on the state page.

This page covers companies based in the City and County of Denver. Suburbs such as Arvada, Littleton and Parker are on the Aurora page. We reviewed 28 Denver companies and 9 met our listing bar: restoration work documented on their own site, a way to reach them, a readable location and a second source that agrees. Coverage, shown beside each score, is how much of that score we could check.

What the evidence shows

Water and mold on every site

Each of the 9 Denver companies documents both water damage and mold remediation. Sewage cleanup appears on 7 of 9 sites. Fire and smoke restoration and storm work, meaning the board-up and roof tarping that follows wind or hail, each show up on 6 of 9.

8 of 9 say they answer around the clock, and 7 of 9 mention help with insurance claims. Free estimates appear on 6 of 9. The same number name an industry standard such as IICRC S500, which is the company's own claim about itself. 1 of 9 is a franchise location, scored on its local page and not on the national brand's.

What the sites leave out

Speed and guarantees are the gaps. Only 3 of 9 say how quickly a crew arrives, and 3 of 9 describe a warranty on the work. Those blanks cost points. It's why the companies over the line score a median of 59 while median coverage across all 9 is 75%.

Why the registry matters here

A company's own website can't carry it to 70% coverage alone. The rest needs an outside record, and in Colorado that is the Secretary of State's business entity data. A match confirms the entity and its formation date, and a clean miss still counts as checked. When a trading name doesn't lead to one record either way, those items stay unchecked and coverage stops just short of the line. An owner in that position can send the registered entity name through corrections.

Checking a Denver company yourself

Start with the city. Colorado's DORA says roofers and general contractors aren't licensed by the state, so ask Denver's building department whether your job needs a local license, then ask the company for that number. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment states that it doesn't regulate mold. You can confirm a company's registration and standing on the Secretary of State's Business Database Search. For a home built before 1978, the EPA runs lead renovation certification in Colorado, so ask whether the firm holds it. We haven't logged IICRC or EPA Lead-Safe checks for these companies, so profiles show both as Not verified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are Denver companies shown without a rank?

Only 5 of the 9 listed companies reached 70% coverage, and a ranked list needs 8 at that level. Most of the others sit just under the line. Until more of them clear it, their scores stay side by side in a table rather than in an order that would claim more than the evidence supports.

Does Denver or Colorado license restoration contractors?

Not at the state level. When we checked in September 2026, Colorado's Department of Regulatory Agencies said general contractors and roofers aren't licensed by the state and told homeowners to check with their city. The state health department says it does not regulate mold. Ask Denver's building department what your job requires.
