Key Takeaways
- 10 of 10 document water damage and 9 of 10 mold. Fire and smoke drops to 5 of 10.

What the evidence shows
Water and mold, and not much else
Miami's list is narrow. Water damage appears on all 10 sites and mold on 9 of 10, but fire and smoke falls to half, storm work to 3 of 10 and sewage and biohazard cleanup to a single company. For a sewer backup or storm-torn roof, expect to look beyond this page, including the Fort Lauderdale area list.
The practical promises are thinner here too. 7 of 10 say they answer around the clock, 6 of 10 mention insurance claim help and 5 of 10 state free estimates. Only 4 of 10 name an industry standard such as IICRC S500. No listing is a franchise location.
Why the scores sit low
Most of each score was checkable here. What pulls the numbers down is what the companies say about their own work: just 2 of 10 give a response time and none describes a warranty. A Miami company that adds those to its site, with specifics, would score higher when we recheck.
Checking a company in Miami
Florida's DBPR licenses mold assessors and mold remediators. The law exempts some other licensed professionals, including contractors licensed under Chapter 489, when they work within their own license and don't present themselves as mold assessors or remediators. So a restoration company without a mold license can still be lawful. If it calls itself a licensed mold remediator, though, that license should appear in the DBPR search. IICRC and EPA Lead-Safe checks aren't logged, and profiles show them as Not verified.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do Miami scores look so low next to coverage?
Coverage is how much of the score we could check, and in Miami the median is 81.5%. The score is what we found. Most Miami sites skip response times, warranties and named standards, so a company can be well checked and still score low.
When do Florida mold licenses expire?
When we checked in September 2026, DBPR's Mold-Related Services page said mold assessor and mold remediator licenses expire on July 31 of every even year. If a Miami company quotes you a mold license number, it should show as current in the DBPR license search.
