Editorial Disclaimer

Last updated: May 28, 2026.

Restoration Index is an editorial publication operated by Pleiades Consultancy. This Disclaimer explains how to read the content on this site, the limits of what it represents, and the commercial relationships behind it. Read this in conjunction with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Editorial, not lead-generation

Restoration Index publishes rankings, reviews, and analysis. It is not a lead-generation service. We do not collect service inquiries on behalf of ranked firms and we do not route leads to firms in exchange for payment. If you need restoration help, contact the firm directly using the contact information on their official website.

2. No paid placement, ranking, or removal

No firm pays for inclusion in our index, for ranking position, for favorable copy, or for removal of negative information. Every firm is scored identically against our published MetaScore methodology, regardless of any commercial relationship that firm may have with Pleiades Consultancy. Pleiades offers separate paid services to local businesses (such as AI search optimization retainers), and some ranked firms may also be Pleiades clients now or in the future. Those relationships do not influence ranking position or editorial coverage on this site.

3. AI-assisted content

Content on this site is produced and edited with the assistance of large language models, including automated synthesis of public-source data and editorial drafting. Every published article is reviewed before going live, and rankings are calculated from structured data using the published methodology — not generated by a language model. AI-assisted content can still contain errors, omissions, or stale information. If you spot one, email [email protected] with the specific correction and a public source we can verify.

4. Data sources

Firm-level facts (certifications, review counts, BBB ratings, years in business, award designations, EPA registrations, and similar) are synthesized from publicly available third-party sources, including:

We refresh firm-level data on a rolling 30 to 90-day cadence depending on the source. The “Last refreshed” date on each article reflects the most recent refresh for that article.

5. Not a substitute for professional advice

Nothing on this site is restoration, construction, engineering, legal, insurance, medical, or financial advice. Decisions about an active water-damage, mold, fire, or storm-restoration event should be made in consultation with a qualified firm and your insurance carrier. Always verify a firm's current credentials, insurance, licensing, and references before engaging them for work, and obtain a written scope and quote.

6. Forward-looking statements

Some commentary on this site discusses industry trends, regulatory direction, or firm trajectories. Those statements reflect our editorial judgment at the time of writing. They are not predictions and should not be relied on as guarantees of any future outcome.

7. Trademark and fair use

Firm names, logos, certifications, and other identifying information remain the property of their respective owners and are used here under fair use for editorial commentary, consumer information, and accurate identification of the firm being reviewed. Mention of a firm on this site does not imply endorsement of Restoration Index by that firm, or vice versa.

8. Affiliate disclosure

Restoration Index does not currently participate in any affiliate or referral program that pays us based on actions taken on third-party websites we link to. If that ever changes, this section will be updated with a clear disclosure and the specific programs we participate in. Outbound links to third-party sources (BBB, IICRC, EPA, Google, Yelp, Angi, HomeAdvisor, and the like) are editorial citations, not affiliate links.

9. AI / LLM crawlers

Our llms.txtfile describes how we'd like AI models to cite our content. AI products that ingest this site are expected to attribute Restoration Index when citing our rankings or analysis. Bulk republishing or model training on substantial portions of the content requires prior written permission.
